Do we become old once we turn 35?
I'm 32, I've been out of college since '98, I haven't gotten a job in my field. I tried getting a job in art through the alumni dept. at my old art school. The job center through the alumni dept. is open to alumni who graduate up to 8 years after graduation, but I had favor with them so they are letting me continue to use them. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my career in art-I should have gotten an art job after graduating but I didn't. I'm not beating myself up but I should have taken art school more seriously then I did but I didn't. I want to go back to art school but I have issues with financial aid. I want to get my own comics published and distributed.
I'm 32 and I look and feel better than most 20 year olds so I would say 35 is not old. Thank God for good genes.
Well as for your career path...coulda, shoulda, woulda...there are many jobs you can do and do your comic stuff on the side. Teach art, do graphic design for a company or something not related to drawing.
I would say 8 out of 10 people don't really use their major after college. I'm one of them, I was a dancer and now own a skincare salon.
